Terms of service
Effective October 12, 2026
These terms are between you and Carolina Bin Systems of Stantonsburg, North Carolina (“we”), and cover the One Latch office portal, the driver app, and the website at onelatchdriver.com (together, “the service”). By signing in or using the service you agree to them. The latch hardware itself is sold or piloted under a separate written agreement with your organization; where that agreement says something different, it wins.
1. What the service is
The portal lets a feed mill, integrator or grower enter its farms, bins, latches and feed orders, and keeps a log of every delivery code it issues and every delivery closed with a photo. The driver app shows a driver the code for one order’s bin. Codes are produced from a secret shared with the latch and the bin’s delivery count; one code is issued per delivery.
2. Accounts
You get an account by invitation from your organization’s admin, or through the free demo. Keep your password to yourself and tell your admin at once if you think someone else has it. Your organization is responsible for the people it invites, the roles it gives them and what they do with the service. Admins can remove anyone at any time.
3. Using it properly
Use the service only for your organization’s own feed deliveries and only as the people in it are entitled to. Do not share a delivery code with anyone who is not making that delivery, try to reach another organization’s data, probe or overload the service, or send in a photo that is not of the latch you just closed. We may suspend an account that does.
4. What the latch does and does not do
The latch is a keypad lock for a feed-bin lid. It has no radio and no connection to the service: it does not report whether or when a lid was opened, and the portal’s log is a record of codes issued and deliveries closed, not of lid openings. The latch has an owner PIN and a mechanical release so that a bin can always be opened by its owner or in an emergency. The service helps you control and record access to feed; it is not a guarantee that no one can open a bin, and you remain responsible for the security of your farms and feed.
5. Your data
Everything your organization enters, and the records the service keeps for it, belong to your organization. You give us permission to store and process it to run the service, as described in our privacy policy. You can export your records from the portal at any time. We do not sell or use your data for advertising.
6. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available but do not promise it will never be down. The driver app keeps the last code looked up on the phone so a delivery can finish without signal. We may change or improve the service, and will tell your organization’s admin about changes that affect how you work. Fees, if any, are set out in your organization’s order or pilot agreement.
7. No warranty; limits on liability
The service is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses — including lost feed, lost birds, lost profits, or disease — arising from the service, the latch or a delivery, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount your organization paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits; where that is so, they apply as far as the law permits.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service at any time, and your organization can close its account by asking us. We can suspend or end access for a breach of these terms, or on notice when a pilot or order ends. On closing, we delete the account’s data as the privacy policy describes.
9. The rest
These terms are governed by the law of North Carolina, and disputes go to the state or federal courts there. If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the current version, and using the service after a change means you accept it.
